Frequently Asked Questions.
General.
Q. Can I split a pack of labels and have 2 different names ?
A.No, one name and design only is allowed per pack, however you could have just their last name printed on the
labels, and use them for the whole family.
Sticker Labels.
Q. Do KiD Labels come in colours other than white ?
A. No, unfortunately, at present there are no environmentaly safe coloured labels on the market. The only label material we have found that comes in colours, and is flexible and is dishwasher safe, is PVC. Read 'KiD Labels are an environmentally friendly solution', on our 'ABOUT US' page for reasons why we don't use PVC labels.
Q. Can I use the labels on items that will be placed on the bottom rack of the dishwasher ?
A. Yes, however you need to allow the label to bond to the item for a minimum of 24 hours, before placing it in the dishwasher, as the adhesion strength increases with time.
Q. Can I use the labels on baby bottles, that are placed in a sterilizer ?
A. Yes you can. Sterilizers operate at a temperature of 100°C / 210°F. Our sticker labels have a maximum working temperature of 120°C / 250°F. The labels may have a slight orange tinge when they come out, but this is just a characteristic of the material and does not affect the performance of the label.
Q. I am having difficulties removing the sticker labels from my baby bottles, is there an easy way to get them off?
A. Yes, you can use a hair drier to soften the labels, then remove them while they are still hot. Care must be excercised when doing this, as too much heat can distort a plastic bottle or break a glass bottle...........or burn a finger!
The alternative to this is to scrape them off with a knife, which can take awhile and get messy, as the label will come off in small pieces! You will be left with the adhesive still on the bottle, which can be removed with nail polish remover.
Iron-on Clothing Labels.
Q. How long do the iron-on labels stay on for ?
A. If ironed on in accordance with our instructions, the labels should stay on until the child grows out of the garment.
Some common causes of problems are......
1.
If the label is placed too close to a seam, preventing the iron from placing even pressure over the whole label.
2.
The garment is not suitable for ironing..........
3.
If the label is sticking to the iron, try reducing the temperature of the iron.
Note: A small amount of adhesive should be visible around the edge of the label, if it is applied correctly.
Q. Do KiD Labels sell sew on woven labels ?
A. No we don't, our labels are iron-on only, they are made of polyester and the text is printed on.
Q. Can the iron-on labels be removed?
A. Yes, the iron-on labels can be removed by re-heating them with a hot iron, and peeling them off.
Shoe Labels.
Q. Are shoe labels sold separately ?
A. The shoe labels are just a clear label with no print. They are used to cover the sticker labels when they are placed inside shoes, to protect the print on the sticker label. They are supplied free in our Value Packs of labels and with all sticker label orders.
